David Samuels, (October 9, 1948 - April 22, 2019) in Chicago, IL. was a Vibraphone, marimba and timpani player.
In 1973 he formed a marimba and vibraphone duo called Double Image with David Friedman who had beed a student with Ruth Underwood at Julliard. He joined Gerry Mulligan sextet in 1974 and went on to play with Spyro Gyra between 1977 and 1994.
Samuels performed with Zappa, joining Underwood on percussion, at The Palladium, New York; 26th - 29th December 1976 and can be heard on:
