Salman Rushdie (1947) is a British author, world famous for his novel "The Satanic Verses". In 1989 ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa against Rushdie for the alleged blasphemy in this book.

Rushdie was one of the members of the audience during the Royal Albert Hall concert in 1967 where Don Preston played Louie Louie on the Albert Hall pipe organ. He later wrote down his account of the event in "Rock 'n Roll", Chapter One: The Members' Almanac, Winter 1999-2000".
