The Village People
American disco pop group, who were most popular at the end of the 1970s and the start of the 1980s. They're best known for their individual stage costumes: a Native American, a cowboy, a policeman, a construction worker, a biker and a G.I. Their biggest hits were "YMCA", "Macho Man" and "In the Navy".
Zappa's composition N-Lite briefly quotes "In the Navy". He explained that the "N" of he song referred to the "N" of "Navy". (Source: SLAVEN, Neil, "Electric Don Quixote:The Story Of Frank Zappa"; Omnibus Press, 1995, page 325.)
