The Tubes were an American avant-garde/punk rock band, best known for their song "White Punks On Dope" (1975).

The band was inspired by Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart, among others. The Tubes performed covers of Frank Zappa’s More Trouble Every Day and King Kong during a 1972 concert, and recorded a cover version of Beefheart’s "My Head Is My Only House Unless It Rains" on their album "Now" (1977).
