In the late fifties, Ronnie Williams started a band called The Blackouts. The original members were:
Ronnie Williams - guitar
Wayne Lyles - vocals
Terry Wimberly - piano
Johnny Franklin - bass, sax
Carter Franklin - ?
Ernie Thomas - trumpet
Frank Zappa - drums
In 1961, the band consisted of: Ronnie Williams - guitar
Frank Zappa - guitar, percussion
Dwight Bement - sax
Joe Perrino - piano
Al Sarratt - drums
Rex Jakobowski - guitar, vocals, harmonica
