"Occam's razor" is a "theoretical principle" attributed to Franciscan friar William of Ockham, often paraphrased as "Cut the Crap" or CC as we call it on ZWJ ;-) Duncan 11:54, 5 July 2008 (PDT)

A new section/category for ZFT-releases (post-FZs-death)?

Doing a little editing on the OSD page made me wonder: what if we were to establish a separate category for releases done by the ZFT -- that is to say, releases that were not conceived/supervised by FZ; having GZ, DZ and Joe Travers at the helm instead? I can imagine a kid's first FZ purchase being, I dunno Joe's Domage. That's not the best way to start exploring FZ's music to say the least. Some, not all, of the ZFT-releases have been considered sub-par by a large part of the fanbase, and so that's why I think a distinction between "stuff Zappa released while he was alive" vs "stuff the ZFT has released" could be of value to the wiki. What say ye?

I say "Aye". Duncan 06:51, 6 July 2008 (PDT)

No pbm for me, this is factual information.

What do you think about Category:Posthumous Albums & Category:Posthumous Releases?

What is the first posthumous album then? Civilization Phaze III?

Do we manage the videos (such as The Torture Never Stops (The Film)) the same way?

Yes Civilization Phaze III was the first posthumous album but not with GZ, DZ and Joe Travers at the helm - so that will be a separate sub category - just to keep the discography nice and simple :-) Duncan 14:03, 6 July 2008 (PDT)

Sorry to trunk in, but just a newbie thought, using the theoretical principle of De Bono logic - how about all post-FZ stuff having a pale colour-tint b/ground? That way you guys don't need to start more work with sub-groups etc., us readers would know straight away - whatever the article - that it's post-FZ 'cos it's on a silver, pink, or whatever b/ground. Just a post-FZ colour template needed. I'll shut up now.--Tonefish 05:58, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
