Sting was a bass guitarist and vocalist with The Police and then as a solo artist. In 1988 Zappa invited him to perform with the band in Chicago . He performed his song Murder By Numbers from the final album by The Police - Synchronicity. This performance can be heard on Broadway The Hard Way.
