Pamela Ann Miller (Born: 9th September 1948, Reseda, California)

As Miss Pamela she first came to prominence in the GTO's in the L.A. groupie scene of the late 60's. She attended Cleveland High School with another GTO, Miss Sparky. A high-school acquaintance introduced her to Captain Beefheart, which led to her meeting members of various rock groups. She joined Vito Paulekas' dance troupe and undertook various jobs to sustain a groupie lifestyle on the celebrity circuit of LA's Sunset Strip. It was here that her paths crossed with other groupies into a nucleus that would become the GTO's.

She also worked in The Log Cabin as FZ's nanny and, in the early 70's, appeared in Zappa's 200 Motels as a rock magazine journalist.

On October 29, 1977 she married Michael Des Barres, but was divorced in 1991. She has retained her married name Pamela Des Barres and has written two memoirs of her experience as a groupie; I'm With The Band (1987) and Take Another Little Piece of My Heart: A Groupie Grows Up (1993).

A breast cancer survivor, she currently writes articles for online & print, teaches in Los Angeles and is an ordained minister.

"The residents at that time included my wife, Gail; my secretary, Pauline Butcher; our road manager, Dick Barber; Pamela Zarubica; Ian Underwood; Motorhead Sherwood; and a girl named Christine Frka - the woman on the cover of the Hot Rats album crawling out of the crypt. Christine Frka was our baby-sitter, along with Pamela Des Barres."
