Lynyrd Skynyrd were an American country rock band, who are best known for their hit song "Sweet Home Alabama" (1974). Their career was cut short by a tragic planecrash in 1977, where three band members lost their lives.
During "Star Special", FZ as a guest DJ on BBC Radio 1 in 1980, Zappa played their song, "Sweet Home Alabama".
