Eric Clapton (March 30, 1945) is a British rock singer and guitarist, best known as a member of the band Cream, who later had a succesful solo career.

Clapton provided voices for Lumpy Gravy, though, contrary to what's been said in the liner notes, he isn't actually present on the recording. In a backstage interview in Copenhagen, March 3, 1976, Zappa said that the mention of Clapton on that album is a mistake. [1]

Clapton can be heard on We're Only In It For The Money, during the track Nasal Retentive Calliope Music, saying: "Beautiful! God! It is God! I see God!"[2]
