Down and Dirty Duck
"Down and Dirty Duck" (1975) is an American X-Rated animated film directed by Charles Swenson and produced by Roger Corman. The film was intended to cash in on the success of the similar adult animated movie "Fritz the Cat" (1972) by Ralph Bakshi.
"Down and Dirty Duck" stars Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan as the characters Willard and an unnamed duck. Aynsley Dunbar provided additional voices and Janet Ferguson sang "Kama Sutra Time".
Aside from starring a few of Zappa's musicians "Down and Dirty Duck" also references Zappa's 200 Motels (1971). In one scene the duck (Howard Kaylan) protests: "You can't do this to me! I was at Woodstock in '69. I saw "200 Motels"! I know who I am!" Another scene Willard (Mark Volman) asks the duck how he became a duck. He answers that he "used to be a turtle, but that wasn't too happening", so he got "some advice from his mother" and "just sort of flowed (a pun on Flo from Flo & Eddie) from there." During their conversation a huge caricature of Frank Zappa rises like the sun over the horizon. Hereupon Willard says: "Oh, Eddie, you have GOT to be kidding", in reference to Zappa's song Eddie Are You Kidding?.
