The DiscReet Records label was created by Zappa in 1973 following the demise of his Bizarre and Straight labels. DiscReet operated until 1979 when Zappa's legal proceedings against Warner Brothers the label's distributor, led him to establish Zappa Records and Barking Pumpkin Records.
