Cologne or Eau de Cologne is a perfume in a style that originated from Cologne, Germany.[1]
The product was referenced a few times in Frank Zappa's lyrics, often with an exaggerated pronunciation of the word:
- In Debra Kadabra as "Avon Cologna".
- In Them Or Us (The Book) as "Avon Co-log-nuh".
- In The Blue Light as "Brut Cologne".
- In the plot of Thing-Fish, "The prince invents this disease and puts it in the water supply. He also puts it in bottles of cologne called Galoot Cologne – pronounced ko-log-nuh [sic]."[2] The word spelled "Co-log-nuh" was used in the songs Prologue, Galoot Up-Date, The 'Torchum' Never Stops, Wistful Wit A Fist-Full and Won Ton On.
