Adrian Belew (born Robert Steven Belew, 23 December 1949, in Covington, Kentucky) is an American guitarist and vocalist. He performed with Zappa during the late 1970s on albums such as Zappa In New York (1977), Sheik Yerbouti (1979), Baby Snakes (1981), You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1 (1988), You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 6 (1992), Frank Zappa Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa (1996) and Quaudiophiliac (2004) and can be seen in the film Baby Snakes (1979).

Later career

Belew subsequently performed with David Bowie before Joining King Crimson in 1981. He has worked with numerous bands and musicians (including Laurie Anderson in the mid 1980's and 1994) as well as solo projects and his band Adrian Belew Power Trio.

He wrote liner notes for the album Halloween 77 (2017).
