Wipe Out was a hit record from 1963 (although originally the B side) by the surf rock band The Surfaris. Recorded at the Pal Studio in 1962 it remains popular and is widely covered. Zappa covered it in Wollman Rink, Central Park (3 August 1968), Town Hall in Birmingham, United Kingdom (30 May 1969) and Hammersmith Odeon in London (27 February 1978).
