Terry Bozzio is heard complaining about his hands aching from playing so many shows and playing his drums so hard - "I feel like I've been hitting my goddamn hands with a hammer!" This title to Bozzio's drum solo is a reference to one of Zappa's (and many others who like 20th century music) favorite Pierre Boulez pieces, "Le Marteau sans maître' (The Hammer Without a Master).
