"Brazil" (1985) is a American science fiction, fantasy and satirical film, directed by Terry Gilliam and starring (among others) Robert De Niro, Michael Palin, Bob Hoskins and Ian Holm.

The film is about a man working a bureaucratic job in a dystopian, totalitarian world and rebels against it's government. "Brazil" is generally considered Gilliam's best film and has become a cult movie.

In the week of 7-12 December 1986 Zappa was the guest host of "Future Shock Week", a thematic science fiction film week on The Movie Channel. The first film he introduced was "Brazil", which he introduced as "one of his favorite movies." [1]

In the interview The Last Days of Frank Zappa Zappa also mentioned that "Brazil" is his favourite movie.
