Ron Jarzombek is an American progressive metal guitarist, best known as a member of the bands Watchtower, Spastic Ink, Blotted Science and Terrestrial Exiled.

Ron Jarzombek: "Frank Zappa was a genius. I wish I could play the music that the wrote. All of those timing subdivisions, his beautiful chords clusters, the way he could color with his music. Just brilliant. That solo that David Bagsby does in 'Nerds' just reminds me of that tonality that is present in Zappa’s melodies. When I first heard Dave’s solo, I got goosebumbs. I didn’t know what type of melody to write for that part, so I thought of givng the section to wacky Dave and he pulled through for me big time." .

"Even though Yngwie was a huge influence on me, I think Steve Vai, Zappa's most famous disciple, has had the most effect on my playing of any guitarist. Zappa and Vai had an incredible sense of timing, all of his uses of chopping up of beats, septuplets, fitting 5 notes into the place of where two would be in a quintuplet, etc. - all that stuff just blew my mind." .
