Tony Allen.

Tony Allen (August 13, 1932) is an American R&B singer, who recorded the song "Nite Owl" with his group The Champs.

He and his song "Nite Owl" were namedropped in the song "Memories Of El Monte" and referenced again in Joe's Garage.

Zappa covered "Nite Owl" later in his career. He also played the song while he was a guest DJ at Dr. Demento's radio show in 1973.
