Isaac Hayes (August 20, 1942 – August 10, 2008) was an American soul singer, saxophonist and voice actor. He is best known for the song "Theme From Shaft" (1972) and playing the role of the character Chef in the animated TV series "South Park".
He is name-dropped by Ike Willis in Sunshine Of Your Love as a pun on the previous song Purple Haze.
