The Sonics was an American rock band, active in the 1960s. While they never quite broke through, they were rediscovered by later bands for their aggressive sound, influencing bands like Nirvana, The White Stripes, The Hives and LCD Soundsystem.
In 1967, The Sonics covered Frank Zappa and The Mothers' Any Way The Wind Blows in two different versions. [1] The band members felt Zappa was both "hilarious and a good musician to boot.", according to band member Andy Parypa. [2]
