Larry Fanoga is the 'alter ego' of (Euclid James) Jim "Motorhead" Sherwood. 'Larry' provided chorus for Lumpy Gravy during the tracks Almost Chinese and Drums Are Too Noisy.

When Zappa relaunched his Captain Beefheart vs. The Grunt People project in 1969, Sherwood was considered in a side role, again as the character Larry Fanoga. However, after after Captain Beefheart and Zappa had a fall-out over the disappointing sales of Trout Mask Replica, the project never went into production. [1]
