Gruppo Sportivo was a Dutch new wave band, active between 1976 and 2013. They wrote humorous pop songs. In 2018, they reformed.
Zappa references
Gruppo Sportivo covered Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance from Lumpy Gravy note for note on the track "Superman" on their album "10 Mistakes" (1978)
Hans Vandenburg, one of the groups' members, later went solo and started a new group, "Dierenpark".
