Interviewed by Barry Alfonso for Songwriter (June 1980), Zappa commented on the song:

"I like 'Typical Girls' by the Slits, stuff by the Buzzcocks, one or two songs by the Police. I think one of the best records of last year was 'Lucky Number' by Lene Lovich. It's a good song, it has a fantastic arrangement and her singing is great." [1]
