The old-fashioned version of Aunt Jemima and the modern version.

Aunt Jemima was the advertising mascot of a pancake mix, syrup and other breakfast foods brand. The image has been in vogue since 1889, but was modernized in 1968 and 1989. Nevertheless, in 2020 it was announced that Jemima would be retired.

The track Electric Aunt Jemima on Uncle Meat carries her name, as well as the album Electric Aunt Jemima. Yet Zappa revealed in an interview that it was actually a reference to David Blue's amplifier of his Standel guitar. [1]
