Phil Collins (January 30, 1951) is a British rock and pop artist. He started his career as a drummer and singer for the group Genesis and later pursued a solo career, scoring hits with songs like "In the Air Tonight", "Su Su Sudio", "Against All Odds", "Another Day In Paradise", ...
In the "Genesis Revelations" book Phil Collins says he likes Frank Zappa (and this is where he heard of Chester Thompson). He also mentiones using the drum fill from "More Trouble Every Day" into "Afterglow". (Live versions with this fill can be heard on "Seconds Out" and "Three Sides Live").
