One of Zappa's Side Projects was the production of an album entitled Trout Mask Replica, performed by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band. Their version of Orange Claw Hammer, written by Captain Beefheart, can be found on this album. Released 1969 (US Original) on Straight (STS 1053).
This version also appears on the Beefheart 2 CD compilation The Dust Blows Forward: An Anthology. Released 1999 on Warner Achives/Rhino (R2 75863)
