'''Unto Mononen''' (October 23, 1930 - June 28, 1968) was a Finnish songwriter, composer and guitarist. In the 1950s, he wrote several tangos and waltzes that were very popular in dance halls. His best-known tango, ''[[Satumaa (Finnsh Tango)]]'' was composed in 1955, but only became a hit when Reijo Taipale covered it.

Mononen, who coped with alcoholism, committed suicide in 1968, at age 37.
