Members Aaron Collins, Willie Davis, Wil “Dub” Jones, Glendon Kingsby, Lloyd McCraw and Austin “Ted” Taylor were originally active as a gospel group. When they switched to doo-wop, Kingsby left. In 1956, Taylor also left to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Prentice Moreland for the recording of what turned out to be The Cadets' biggest hit: ''[[Stranded In The Jungle]]'', a cover of The Jay Hawks' single of the same name.
