'''Matti Laipio''' (b. February 25, 1944) is a Finnish music journalist, and record producer. He worked as editor-in-chief for the music magazine Rytmi and has written numerous articles and books about jazz and blues music.

In the fall of 1974, Zappa went to the Shashlik restaurant in Helsinki, where he joined a wedding party in the Hesperia hotel. Afterwards, Laipio asked him to perform ''[[Satumaa (Finnish Tango)]]'' live in concert and gave Zappa the score. In 1976, Laipio visited Zappa in Los Angeles, at his home on Woodrow Wilson Drive.
