In 1978, after [[78/02/03 Vienna Austria Stadthalle|the concert]] held on 3 February 1978 at the [[Wiener Stadthalle]] in [[Vienna]], [[Austria]], politician [[Erhard Busek]] dressed up as Franz Schubert and shook hands with Frank Zappa.

Zappa also covered Schubert's ''[[Ave Maria]]'' three times live in 1978 and four times in 1980.

''"What I would like to see happen with it is to have concert halls designed to accommodate performance of six-channel playback, whether it's a six-channel miked ensemble, or pre-recorded material in six-channel. +In the spring of 1975, John Irvine and Greg Johnson, two math students at the University of [[Pomona]] played a prank by covering up a bust of [[Frédéric Chopin]] on top of the Bridges Auditorium, where busts of famous composers [[Richard Wagner]], [[Fréderic Chopin]], [[Ludwig van Beethoven]], [[Johann Sebastian Bach]] and [[Franz Schubert]] were displayed. They made a phony frieze from styrofoam and covered up Chopin's face, so he would have Zappa's trademark mustache and chin hair. They covered up Schubert's name with Zappa's also added a stylized marihuana leaf. To prevent their frieze from falling, they secured it with a heavy fishing line, tied to various rooftop fixtures. The prank came about because they had heard he would perform in the Auditorium in April of that year. Unfortunately they only got it up a week after his concert.
