On 28 April 1988, Bekkelund interviewed Frank Zappa for TV Oslo at the Sheraton Hotel in Sandvika <ref>https://www.donlope.net/fz/videography/1985-93.html</ref>, since the editors knew he was a huge Zappa fan and therefore more knowledgeable than them on the subject.

In 2014, he co-edited the photo book ''Zappa I Norge'' (''Zappa in Norway'' (2014), along with Jon Larsen, Ulf Hoberg and Erlend Sundin.
