'''Cheech Marin''' (13 July 1946) is an American comedian and actor, best known as half of the popular stoner comedy duo Cheech & Chong, which he formed with [[Tommy Chong]]. During the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s Cheech and Chong became a popular cult act, infamous for their drug-related comedy.

He is additionally notable as an actor in other kinds of movies too. He played Neil in Martin Scorsese's ''After Hours'' (1985), the border guard, Chet and Carlos in ''From Dusk Till Dawn'' (1996), Felix Gumm in ''Spy Kids'' (2001) and the Padre in ''Machete'' (2010). He voiced Tito the Chihuahua in the Disney films ''Oliver & Company'' (1988), Banzai the Hyena in ''The Lion King'' (1994) and Ramone in ''Cars'' (2006).

==Cheech Marin and Zappa==

In 1968 Cheech Marin went up to Zappa and auditioned to be a singer. During their meeting he also met [[Captain Beefheart]]. Marin sang Zappa a few songs, but didn't get the gig. According to page 116-177 of [[Tommy Chong]]'s autobiography,'' "Cheech & Chong: The Unauthorized Autobiography"'' Zappa once went to a Cheech and Chong Show in [[Santa Monica]] near the end of the 1960s, but was offended by their glorification of drugs:
