Wim Brands (March 29, 1959) is a Dutch poet, journalist and radio presenter.

On his personal blog Brands claims that he bought his first Zappa record, Hot Rats when he was 15. It was also his first introduction to Captain Beefheart. [1].

In 2007, on the 15th anniversary of Zappa's death date, December 4, Co de Kloet and Wim Brands presented a radio special on the Dutch radio station Radio 3 dedicated to Frank Zappa's music. [2].

In 2008 the Dutch rock magazine "Wah Wah" organized a poll that asked several famous Dutchmen and Flemings which musical album they would prefer to take to a deserted island. Brands choose Hot Rats by Frank Zappa. [3].
