Universal Music Group is the successor company to labels previously owned by Universal (MCA, ABC Records, etc.), PolyGram (Mercury, MGM, Verve, A&M, Deutsche Grammophon), and EMI (Capitol and Virgin). It is also the current worldwide rightsholder, since 2012, to the Frank Zappa Catalog.
