Khyam Allami

Khyam Allami (1981) is a Syrian-British lute player and musicologist. He is best known as a contemporay performer and author of and on Arabic music. On August 9, 2010, he performed during the London Proms concerts. He has also worked as a drummer and bass guitarist for rock bands like Ursa, Art of Burning Water and Knifeworld and Gales.

Apart from Arabian influences Allami is also inspired by Western rock music, such as King Crimson and the "indepencence and forward thinking of Frank Zappa", as listed on his official biography page. [1]
