[[Val Valentine]]: a well respected sound engineer having worked with producer [[Norman Granz]] on recordings for his [[Verve Records|Verve]] label during the 1950's. When Granz retired from the recording world in 1962 he sold [[Verve Records|Verve]] to [[MGM]] and Valentine continued to work for them throughout the 1960's engineering many famous albums from the era including [[Freak Out!]]. Valentine worked with his old partner again when Granz returned to the recording world with his Pablo label in 1973.
