[[Tom Wilson]] was a record producer in the Sixties. He first worked for [[Columbia Records]], then went to [[Verve Records]]. He has produced records for [[Simon & Garfunkel]], [[Bob Dylan]], and [[The Velvet Underground]]. He signed [[The Mothers Of Invention]] to [[Verve Records]] in 1965/1966, and was credited as producer on the groups seminal debut album "[[Freak Out!]]" (1966) although it is widely believed that FZ did most of the real production work.

Tom Wilson died of a heart attack on 9/6/1978 at the age of 47. Wilson also [[Absolutely Free]], and [[We're Only In It For The Money]] for FZ, and appeared in the FZ movies [[Uncle Meat (The Film)|Uncle Meat]] & [[Video From Hell]].

Graduated from Harvard in 1954 and set up his own jazz record label, Transition, in 1955.  Worked as a radio producer in the late 1950's. Became A&R director for Savoy Records in the early 1960's before working as a producer for [[Columbia Records]] in 1963 – producing early recordings by [[Bob Dylan]]. He added a rythm section to [[Simon & Garfunkel|Simon and Garfunkel's]] accoustic "The Sounds of Silence." and released it as a single. It went to number one and [[Tom Wilson|Wilson]] left Columbia and went to [[Verve Records|MGM/Verve]] where he would work with [[The Velvet Underground]].
