Rutger Hauer (23 January 1944 - 19 July 2019) was a Dutch film actor, best known for his roles in Paul Verhoeven's blockbuster films Turks Fruit (Turkish Delight, 1973), Soldaat van Oranje (Soldier of Orange, 1977) and roles in Hollywood movies, such as the villain in Ridley Scott's Blade Runner (1981).

Hauer was interviewed for The Revenge Of The Dead Indians. He is one of the people receiving thanks for their "very special but no less significant contributions" in The Yellow Shark liner notes. [1] He is also mentioned in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object. [2]

On 23-24 June 2000 Hauer was present at the world premier of 200 Motels - The Suites, performed by the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest during the Holland Festival in Carré Amsterdam. [3]
