Péter Eötvös (pronounced [ˈpɛtɛr.ˈøtvøʃ]) (January 2, 1944) is a Hungarian composer and conductor.

He conducted the Ensemble Modern and Ensemble Intercontemporain during the 1990s and many of Zappa's classical compositions. When Zappa died in 1993 Eötvos composed "Psalm 151, in memoriam of Frank Zappa".

On September 22, 2006, l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, conducted by Péter Eötvös, performed Frank Zappa's Greggery Peccary & Other Persuasions. The concert got broadcast in October 2006.

On November 13-15, 2009, at the Festival Présence, a number of Frank Zappa compositions were performed by l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, conducted by Eötvös, performed Zappa's The Perfect Stranger and Dupree's Paradise.

Péter Eötvös is also mentioned and thanked in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object (2006) album. [1]
