Norma Jean Bell was a part of Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention from september 1975 until the end of the year, but only appears on the [[Frank Zappa Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa]] release, providing saxophone and vocals(?). According to [[Terry Bozzio]], she was released from service due to drug use (from an interview with the "Idiot Bastard" on 12/07/1992).

Norma Jean Bell was briefly part of Zappa's touring band at the end of 1975. She plays saxophone on Frank Zappa Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa, Joe's Menage and Zagreb/Ljubljana.

She went on to work with Tommy Bolin and Narada Michael Walden. She also performed with the Parliament-Funkadelic collective. In the 1990s she set up her own Pandamonium Records label. She had international success with her "I’m the Baddest Bitch" dance track and subsequently worked with Moodymann.
