Mathias Tacke is a violin professor at Northern Illinois University and member of the Vermeer Quartet. He played Violin for the Ensemble Modern from 1983 to 1992. He plays the instrument on Zappa's albums The Yellow Shark, Civilization Phaze III and Everything Is Healing Nicely.
