From 1957 until about 1967, Don Harris and Dewey Terry performed as the duo "[[Don & Dewey]]", releasing various singles on Specialty Records. In the late sixties, "Sugarcane" Harris started playing with - and doing sessions for - various artists; in 1969, longtime Don & Dewey fan Frank Zappa got Don to join his band. "Sugarcane" provided violin and/or vocal for [[Hot Rats]], [[Burnt Weeny Sandwich]], [[Weasels Ripped My Flesh]], [[Chunga's Revenge]], [[Apostrophe (')]], and [[The Lost Episodes]].
