Cynthia Albritton, art student 1965.
Soon to become the cock-rock groupie, Cynthia Plaster-Caster

Cynthia Albritton (Born May 24, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois) aka Cynthia Plaster-Caster of The Plaster Casters Of Chicago, aka Cynthia P. Caster is a groupie and sculptor.

Biography

Albritton grew up an only child in a dysfunctional working-class family with an alcoholic father. Self-confessed to being shy and awkward she attended the Art College campus at South Shore High School in Chicago, Illinois, where she and her best friend 'Pest' became turned-on and tuned-in to The Beatles and the invasion of the British music scene of the 'Swinging Sixties'.

A work assignment from a college tutor, requiring them to plaster cast "something solid that could retain its shape", was to lead Albritton to approach musicians who were in town that weekend, on Dick Clark's 'Caravan Of Stars', and into an unsuccessful attempt at casting the erect penis of Paul Revere.

However, having successfully lost her virginity, she and Pest then persevered in perfecting their casting art and Albritton became a Chicago music-scene groupie in the late 60's- with an unusual introductory gimmick that would subsequently enable her to cast Jimi Hendrix, be introduced to Frank Zappa, and take on the persona of Cynthia Plaster-Caster as lead 'instrument-handler' in The Plaster Casters Of Chicago.

She continued her unusual 'rock-art' career through a generation of stars, later expanding her collection to include casts of celebrity breasts and, with a resurgence of public interest in her work in 2000, currently describes herself as Cynthia P Caster- "a recovering groupie".
