Chester Thompson

Chester Thompson, born and raised in Baltimore, MD was first introduced to the drum kit at age 11 and by the time he was 13, Thompson was already doing club gigs in the greater Baltimore area.

Chester joined The Mothers in the Fall of '73. Chester provided drums for Roxy & Elsewhere, One Size Fits All, Bongo Fury, Studio Tan, Sleep Dirt, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 2, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 3, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 4, The Lost Episodes, Läther, Frank Zappa Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa, QuAUDIOPHILIAc and The Dub Room Special; also for the Beat The Boots series disks Unmitigated Audacity (BTB), & Piquantique (BTB). Thompson can be seen in the Zappa movies Dub Room Special and The True Story Of 200 Motels.

Chester Thompson was also mentioned and thanked in the liner notes of The MOFO Project/Object (2006) album. [1] He was interviewed in the documentary The Drummers Of Frank Zappa (2010).
