Aynsley Dunbar first met FZ when a member of The Jeff Beck Group, but solidified that meeting by jamming with him at Belgium's Amougies Festival in the fall of 1969, where Dunbar's band "Retaliation" was performing; Zappa was there under the auspices of Captain Beefheart's Magic Band as road manager, and MC'd some of the event. Aynsley provided drums for Chunga's Revenge, Fillmore East, June 1971, 200 Motels, Just Another Band From L.A., Waka/Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo, Apostrophe ('), Uncle Meat ('87 re-issue), You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 3, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 6, Playground Psychotics, The Lost Episodes, Joe's Domage, and Quaudiophiliac; also for the Beat The Boots series disks Freaks & Motherfu*****, Disconnected Synapses, Tengo La Minchia Tanta, At The Circus, & Swiss Cheese / Fire !
